Two Academies Hold 2025/26 Orientation Day at EdUHK

The Academy for Applied Policy Studies and Education Futures (AAPSEF), and The Academy for Educational Development and Innovation (AEDI) of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) hosted their Orientation Day for the 2025/26 academic year on the Tai Po campus, on 21 August. A new cohort of students was welcomed to the EdUHK community, as they embarked on a new journey of academic and professional development.

Over 1,000 students participated online and offline. Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, Director of AAPSEF and AEDI along with the Academies’ Executive Co-Directors, Associate Co-Directors, Programme Leaders and Associate Programme Leaders, engaged with new students throughout the events. Staff members and alumni also participated in dynamic discussions with the students.

Professor Lee extended a warm welcome to the new students joining EdUHK. He also highlighted the Academies’ focus on various areas, including public administration and leadership education, enterprise and innovation education, higher education leadership, national security and legal education, and artificial intelligence and digital literacy education from AAPSEF; as well as Chinese Values-based Leadership Education, E-Sports Management, New Media and Social Media, and Educational Neuroscience from AEDI.

Professor Lee added, “Our programmes feature many outstanding staff members, and we encourage students to actively participate in class discussions and engage with one another. Within this vibrant community of the University and the Academies, we promote a culture of mutual support and development. After graduation, we look forward to maintaining connections and collaborating to strengthen and expand our alumni network.”

Representatives from the Student Affairs Office, the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology, and the Library provided an overview of campus resources and student support services to help new students settle into the University environment. The Orientation Day also included programme sessions, during which staff provided detailed information about each programme and offered students opportunities to connect and get to know one another. In addition, alumni shared practical learning experiences and advice with new students.
