Uncovering the “Black Box” of Machine Learning: Promoting AI Literacy with AlphaAI robots in Senior Primary/Junior Secondary Schools across Hong Kong and France

(English Version Only)

Few studies have investigated the use of robots in Artificial Intelligence literacy education to "unbox the black box of AI," engaging young students in an interactive manner. This project aims to address this gap by equipping senior primary and junior secondary students in Hong Kong and France with Artificial Intelligence literacy through the use of AlphAI robots.

Additionally, it seeks to develop and implement a neuroscience-informed pedagogical framework that emphasizes upskilling in-service teachers to effectively deliver Artificial Intelligence literacy courses in these educational settings. Furthermore, the project will involve the development and validation of research instruments for assessing Artificial Intelligence literacy within the K-12 context. Lastly, it aims to strengthen collaboration and facilitate knowledge exchange between Hong Kong and France in the field of Artificial Intelligence literacy education.
