
Introduction
The Global Centre for Women, Development and Education (GCWDE) under the Institute for Global Governance and Chinese Foreign Affairs is dedicated to promoting women's multifaceted development in the era of globalisation, technology, and AI, expanding educational opportunities, and empowering women in Asia, Africa, and other parts of the Global South. It aims to integrate academic research, practical training, and personnel development to promote women's development, social innovation, and sustainable development.
Objectives
- To promote women's studies and empower women by advocating for supportive policies and inclusive participation across all sectors;
- To develop specialised academic programmes for students, educators, policymakers, and people dedicated to women's studies, women's empowerment, and development;
- To strengthen women's leadership and skills through training, mentorship, and development opportunities;
- To build international networks and partnerships to facilitate collaboration and exchange on women's development efforts.
Initiatives
- Organise an international forum to facilitate connections between EdUHK and international networks, fostering collaboration on educational initiatives and research on various topics relating to women's empowerment;
- Develop a master's programme in Women, Development, and Education.
