Background

The Academy for Applied Policy Studies and Education Futures (AAPSEF) Entrance Scholarship aims to recognise AAPSEF students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and are willing to contribute to the community, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) and AAPSEF. 

Provision of the AAPSEF Entrance Scholarship

• Each awardee will receive HK$30,000 and a scholarship certificate as recognition. The scholarship amount will be provided to offset the tuition fee equally in each semester for the normal length of study of the awardee’s programme (i.e., 1 year for full-time and 2 years for part-time). 
• The scholarship will be offered to awardee(s) who registered and commence his/her/their studies in any of the AAPSEF programmes in the 2026/27 academic year. 
• The awardee will not be allowed to hold concurrent scholarships (or bursaries).

Eligibility 

• Local or non-local applicants who registered for Full-time or Part-time AAPSEF self-financed Taught Postgraduate Programmes in 2026/27 academic year.
• Meet the admission requirements of the AAPSEF self-financed Taught Postgraduate programme that the applicants apply for.

Selection Criteria  

The AAPSEF Entrance Scholarship awardees will be selected based on the following criteria:

• Academic performance
• Admission interview performance
• Language proficiency
• Contribution to the community (including working experience and achievements)
• Contribution to EdUHK and AAPSEF

Nomination and Selection Procedure

• Applicant(s) will be invited by the programme team to submit the scholarship application(s).
• Applicant(s) is/are required to submit a personal statement in Chinese (under 300 words) or English (under 500 words) on how they have contributed/ will contribute to the community, EdUHK and AAPSEF.
• The result will be announced by AAPSEF to awardees in September after their programme registration is completed.

Conditions of the Scholarship

• The awardees are required to sign an undertaking to receive the scholarship.
• The awardees are required to participate in events organised by EdUHK, AAPSEF and/or the Programmes for at least 15 hours in their period of study without any additional remuneration.
• The awardees are required to abide by any other conditions laid down by the EdUHK and AAPSEF.
• The scholarship will be terminated if the awardee ceases to be a student of the registered programme, fails any courses or engages in any misconduct. The scholarship should be refunded to AAPSEF, if any.
